NOTEBOOK / RSD-R&D

R&D.

Experiments, prototypes, interface studies, and technical questions. Not every entry is a product; that is the point.

RSD-RD-001 / PROTOTYPE

Local Systems Interface.

Question: Can local infrastructure and technical services be managed through one low-friction interface without hiding system state?

Approach: A browser-based local control surface with explicit service adapters, readable failure states, and minimal navigation depth.

Current result: Prototype direction. Interface architecture and failure-state visibility remain the main design questions.

RSD-RD-002 / VALIDATED

Technical Motion Study.

Question: How much motion can a technical interface use before it stops feeling like instrumentation and starts feeling theatrical?

Approach: Short reveal distances, opacity and transform only, paint-aligned DOM updates, and a reduced-motion path.

Result: Restrained motion communicates hierarchy well when it never blocks content and never loops without purpose.

RSD-RD-003 / ACTIVE

Build Record Schema.

Question: How should RSD separate companies, products, build artifacts, and engineering research as the portfolio grows?

Approach: Unique IDs, explicit states, separate company and project routes, and cross-links between the business and engineering records.

Result: Active system used by this site.
